1. Information We Collect
When you use SkinPal, we collect the following information:
- Account information: Email address and authentication provider (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In).
- Location data: Your device's approximate location (coarse location) to display local weather and UV index.
- Skincare data: Products you add to your cabinet, routines you create, notes you write, and photos you upload.
- Device information: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notification delivery.
- Usage analytics: Screen views, button interactions, and feature usage via Google Analytics for Firebase.
- Website analytics: When you visit skinpal.org, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymized information such as pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate region. This helps us understand what's useful and improve the site.

4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, a secure NoSQL database service
provided by Google. All data transmission between the app and Firebase servers
is encrypted using HTTPS/SSL. Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard
OAuth 2.0 protocols for secure sign-in.
5. Your Control Over Data
- You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.
- You can toggle routine notifications on or off within the app.
- You can delete products, routines, notes, and photos from within the app.
- You can sign out at any time, which removes your local session.

6. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app:
open the Tools tab and tap Delete Account.
You will be asked to confirm the deletion, and you may be required to
re-authenticate with the sign-in provider you used to create the account.
When you delete your account, we permanently erase your routines, shelf
products, notes, diary entries, skin photos, location data, notification
preferences, and your sign-in account. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
7. Children's Privacy
SkinPal is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you
of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating
the "Last updated" date.
